Well done for persevering. Any non-Apple OS software on Apple hardware
is inherently prone to difficulties.

be a good thing.

The crux is; you can download a tor binary from the torproject.org
website and run it through cmd.exe. ("Command Prompt")

Windows doesn't ship with any OpenPGP implementation by default (AFAIK),
so verifying the signature will be a bit of a pain. You could use a
Windows OpenPGP implementation. E.g. Gpg4win, wingpg. But the issue is;
how do you then verify the trust of that binary. You get the idea.

Or, you can run the Windows Subsystem for Linux. (WSL) which will give
you something close to a gnu/linux runtime on Windows.
