Yup, I've been keeping an eye on it. I'm curious to see where it goes. I
have a vested interest in a few of the pages like the volunteer section,
after all. :P
> Do you really think discussing the best way to organize content on the
website is related to what is usually discussed on tor-dev?
Sure. Don't see why not.
> Or the other way around, do you think that the web designers who want to
help us build a better website will be interested by discussions related
to patches for tor, TBB, or Stem? The main idea is to bring new volunteers
on board.
The list doesn't get overly much traffic so it's simple to pick and chose
the topics you're interested in.
Just my two cents but I suspect a dedicated list will hamstring rather
than help your efforts to get new volunteers involved for a few reasons...
1. This project doesn't yet have a dedicated, core development community.
Being exposed on tor-dev@ will likely get input (and maybe even direct
involvement) from more people giving it a better chance of taking off.
2. Volunteers like to be acknowledged for their work. A dedicated list
will limit this project's visibility and pretty much guarantee that no one
will know you folks are even thinking about a new site.
3. Being part of the general development list will better foster the
feeling of being part of the project. They might not read the other
threads, but they'll at least have some notion that they're part of a
wider, active development community.
If this project really takes off and spawns hundreds of emails then I
agree we should think about making a separate list for it. Until then,
however, I think limiting its exposure would be unwise.
Cheers! -Damian
