Comment(by special):

 nickm/gmtime_null resolves the crash, but not the failed state file writes
 and the subsequent (but harmless) errors.

 The changes in arma's comment regarding the LastWritten value may be worth
 making as well.

 The underlying cause of the state file write failing is unknown.
