Resolving 0.2.1.7 issue

I notice this on address 127.0.0.1 with 0.2.1.7-alpha from an idle
client. There's an open bug at
https://bugs.torproject.org/flyspray/index.php?do=details&id=881

The bug seems to be connection_edge.c, not main.c like yours.
