Like Firefox, Privoxy doesn't care about the .exit notation,
and just passes it forward without breaking anything:

Aug 28 12:14:45 (08113e00) Request: addons.mozilla.org.1.exit:443/
Aug 28 12:14:45 (08113e00) Error: failed request #1 to connect to addons.mozilla.org.1.exit:443. Trying again.
Aug 28 12:14:45 (08113e00) Error: failed request #2 to connect to addons.mozilla.org.1.exit:443. Trying again.
Aug 28 12:14:45 (08113e00) Error: failed request #3 to connect to addons.mozilla.org.1.exit:443. Trying again.

I haven't checked it, but I assume Tor itself can't deal
with the exit notation if socks4a is used.
