Although this could be useful, we should be careful of not creating too
many channels of communication. Remember that anything that will
discussed on that IRC channel won't be "public" so it won't benefit
anyone over time unless people actively reading the channel.

So ofc I can't stop you from joining the channel and using it :) but we
should try as much as we can to use this mailing list for discussions.
