Just a quick reminder about GSoC: the student application deadline is
really soon, in like four days or so from now. Be sure to get your

Looks like some fine code. I didn't spot any issues with it. (I'm not
a Python person.)

I commented on #9889 with some feedback. But let's keep the
#9889-specific discussion on the ticket.
