Maybe.  Check out:
http://www.openssl.org/docs/ssl/SSL_CTX_set_mode.html

In particular, look at the two modes 
     SSL_MODE_ENABLE_PARTIAL_WRITE 
and  SSL_MODE_ACCEPT_MOVING_WRITE_BUFFER

I think we should enable the 2nd one, and all will be fine.
