Comment:

 If this is truly a 12-24 point item, I think it can't happen in 0.4.2
 without changing our schedule significantly.  If we do that, it will
 probably delay the release of 0.4.2 entirely.  (We are already in feature-
 freeze.)  Let's make sure that we really want to take that risk before we
 pull this back into 0.4.2.

 To get this done in 0.4.3, we'll need agreement on a design.
