 The Android tools e.g. Gradle Android Plugin need opendk-8, they don't run
 with a newer JDK unless you are using quite new versions, like gradle 5.x.
 and a Gradle Android PLugin version that matches.

 I really highly recommend building anything from the Android source tree
 from scratch.  It is an utter nightmare of tangled dependencies, out of
 date documentation, custom build systems, and "prebuilt" binaries.  We the
 Debian Android Tools Team have put a ton of work into real free software
 builds, and sadly, its far from the whole suite.
