 for what it's worth, i think we could "simply" hook up this prometheus
 exporter:

 https://github.com/peterbourgon/fastly-exporter

 ... into this grafana dashboard:

 https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/8951

 and we'd already get some numbers in...

 alerting and all that depends on #29864 (replacing nagios, at least
 partially) of course.
