Comment (by eighthave):

 The last piece, which is not implemented in the patches, is making the
 output filename be ''libtor.so''.  There is currently no support for
 different output file names in ''Makefile.am'' so it would be non-trivial
 to implement, and I'm not sure the approach that should be taken.
