 It looks like gus already has this access:

 and that change happened on July 24 when #31224 got closed.

 So, give it a try? And reopen if it doesn't work.

 (And I'm not a git admin so I can't actually do anything here other than
 point out how stuff works. :)

 But that said, for future note, requests to add new git permissions need
 to come from somebody who already has them, not from the person who wants
 them:
