 I guess your antivirus program is falsely assuming that those files got
 infected.

 I am glad your performance problem seems to have been resolved by
 switching to a 64bit build. If that's the case please close this bug.

 I am still puzzled by the problem that Tor Browser on your Windows 7
 machine complains about you not having a Windows 7 machine but is updating
 happily to the current alpha version. Can you please do what I asked about
 in comment:3 (testing a current Firefox ESR) checking whether that is a
 Tor Browser-only issue?
