 metrics-bot currently does not use latitude and longitude, only the
 country code, but there are clients using the information including
 [[https://tormap.void.gr|Tor Map]] and a (not yet merged) leaflet.js map
 and (also not yet merged) Relay Search map (for individual relays, not
 aggregated by country).

 One potential alternative would be to perform lookups on regions/cities
 via the [[http://www.geonames.org/maps/osm-reverse-geocoder.html|Geonames
 API]].

 I do wonder however if they are removing the lat/long because the accuracy
 on region/city level isn't as good as it needs to be for them to provide
 that data in a useful way.
