 I opened #21287 for the group permissions side.

 As for the redirects and maintaining links, I think a useful intermediate
 step would be to get ahold of some of the weblogs for media.tp.o, and find
 out which things are popular.

 My guess is that 5 to 20 of the videos are popular, and most other things
 not so much.
