Comment:

 Good catch. The XMPP option needs some more work which we have documented
 in tickets #13855 and #12097. The issue you described should be fixed when
 we work on these two tickets. For the current release, we just picked
 jabber.ccc.de.

 Future releases will allow you to pick a server (with harcoded onion
 addresses) and also allow you to create a new XMPP account from within Tor
 Messenger.
