 another difference to my ticket and #8883 it that it occurs periodically
 in this case.

 In my case the log is flooded with the errors:

 microdescriptor cache.By my count, I'm at xxxxxxxx, but I should be at
 xxxxxxxx
 [Warning] Couldn't dump microdescriptor (wrote xxxxxxxxx out of xxxxxxxx):
 Invalid argument

 rapidly and it does not stop.
