 Pushed to mikeperry/bug8235-diagnostic
 (585c3108e6bddcc7a42750129cfc2392adf7e27c). I also added an additional
 check to the scaling, just in case there are still more issues hiding
 there.

 Still untested as of yet; I am about to start testing it.
