 I am not a qualified reviewer, but I am going to read it out of curiosity.

 Mike, did you consider to update the Design as you push changes? I think
 this could heavily reduce further time you need to spend on it. It's how
 the Tails devs do it. If you update the design every time you push changes
 while it's fresh in your brain, you have a lot less guesswork figuring out
 what you did and why later.
