Comment(by blueness):

 Okay bufferevents is now off by default.  However, our init scripts have
 ulimit -n 30000.  openrc has two pieces to it, the init files are in
 /etc/init.d and the config files are in /etc/conf.d.  In the later, we are
 setting rc_ulimit="-n 30000".
