 I've been working on a project called Tor Browser Launcher. You can see
 the code here: https://github.com/micahflee/torbrowser-launcher

 I wrote it to address bugs #3994 and #5236. Basically, it's a program that
 you're supposed to install from your package manager. It handles
 downloading TBB for you (for your architecture and in your language),
 verifying gpg signatures, and installing it for you. It also auto-updates.
 It also includes a .desktop file, so users can open Tor Browser from their
 desktop environment's menu, attach it to their panels, etc.

 Using Tor Browser Launcher will be the most secure way for Linux users to
 get TBB since it verifies signatures, and most users who just download the
 tarball don't. Eventually I hope to make Mac and Windows versions too.

 This project is almost ready for the first release. When it is ready, can
 I get it in deb.torproject.org? After that I also want to try to get it in
 Debian and Ubuntu, so users can just apt-get install torbrowser-launcher
 to securely get the latest TBB.

 Also, I talked with ioerror about making a metapackage called torbrowser
 that installs torbrowser-launcher, and maybe other torbrowser-related
 packages.
