Comment:

 I don't think this is an HTTPS Everywhere bug, because HTTPS Everywhere
 doesn't have any rulesets covering giffgaff at the moment (you can check
 this by clicking the HTTPS Everywhere button in the toolbar when you're
 looking at that site).

 What you were seeing might have been a buggy redirect by the giffgaff site
 itself.
