Comment:

 Fixed.  There were two problems.  ggplot's defaults for deciding which
 labels to display did not work well in all cases.  Also, we changed the
 year format from 2 to 4 digits a few months ago, which requires more
 space.

 The new limits for deciding which labels to display are:
  - 2 to 7 days: 1 day
  - 8 to 12 days: 2 days
  - 13 to 56 days: 1 week
  - 57 to 180 days: 1 month
  - 181 to 600 days: 3 months
  - 601+ days: 1 year
