Comment:

 Yup, NEWNYM functionality will be in the next release. "identity" (a
 student on our irc channels) has been wanting to do it as part of his
 thesis and, if he doesn't finish it in the next week or so, I'll be
 implementing it.

 No worries, I know that this is a needed feature. :)
