Comment:

 Turns that the most trivial fix is to simply uncomment the -no-remote
 option in Vidalia's MainWindow.cpp. Highly trivial patch found in the no-
 remote branch in erinn/vidalia.git, commitdiff here:

 I've confirmed that it works. Reassigning to Vidalia/chiiph.
