 Okay, these were completely non-issues. I have an vector "settings gear"
 working without a problem. Android provided a backwards-compatible method
 for supporting vector images and it works transparently at run-time (it's
 actually quite nice). The button is a little smaller now, but we can
 iterate on that.

 I just need the spinning onion as an SVG now.
