Comment:

 DNied, does it help if you use about:config to set
 `network.proxy.socks_remote_dns` to `false`? That setting is easy to miss
 in the about:preferences; it is located near the bottom of the Connection
 Settings overlay and is labeled "Proxy DNS when using SOCKS v5".
